ERP Migration hits you
Every day, I hear the frustration of tax leaders forced to halt the transformation of their functions, all because of a colossal cloud ERP migration dragging on for years—often 2-5 years. We know too well that these project deadlines expire and implementation partners change midstream. The evolving business landscape adds more hurdles, disrupting ERP implementations. Shifting project priorities only further increases the chaos. And still, I hear “wait, wait, wait”.
Let's be clear: these ERP projects are critical, even existential. But for tax teams, the immediate benefits are limited. We should be more realistic regarding the expected (tax) outcomes of these projects. Also, pausing your tax transformation isn't an option you can afford. The tax ecosystem evolves relentlessly, and so must you.
So please, keep on pushing the future-proofing of your tax function forward, in parallel to any existing ERP projects that are going on in your organization. Don’t accept being forced to wait. The longer you postpone the transformation of your tax function, the more painful it will become to get started. There is a lot you can do, right now. Go for it!
