Me when taking tax positions

Tax is an extremely delicate art 🎨. Contrary to what many hope, it is rarely binary. It comes in 50+ shades of grey. It is always about taking positions. It is always about striking a very fine balance ⚖️.

Because of this delicacy, we tax people need to cover our you-know-what. We need to document our positions taken. We need to have the audit trail of all the workstreams in which we are involved. We need to be able to tell the context of the data to our stakeholders, most of the time even 3-5 years down the road.
